Red Classic - Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for day to day coordination, scheduling and auditing of both routine and non-routine maintenance. Repairs types managed and monitored include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair to tractors, trucks and trailers, material handling. The supervisor will be involved with hiring, training and the ongoing development of technicians. The Maintenance Supervisor will be expected to deal professionally with all levels of management, employees, vendors, and external customers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that all Fleet Maintenance facilities are kept in a safe and clean condition.
  • Routinely communicate with the Area Manager about any issues or problems requiring his or her attention.
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative team shop environment through effective supervision of all work activities.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Monitor the day to day preventive maintenance activities, vehicle repairs and work projects as directed by the Area Manager.
  • Monitor and maintain proper parts inventory levels (Conduct Quarterly Audits).
  • Monitor and control maintenance costs related to personnel and parts purchases.
  • Ensure all shop equipment is safe to operate, maintained and updated as needed.
  • Organize and support projects handed down from Corporate.
  • Review and approve all Timecards (Kronos and TMW/Tina).
  • Support Technicians diagnostic and training needs.
  • Attend safety meeting at multiple branches.
  • Approve and review expense reports from the technicians.
  • Support workloads as multiple locations (cover employee vacations when needed).
  • Follow and enforce established policies, processes and procedures and report any violations.
  • Performing Coaching and Corrective Actions when needed.
  • Propose, review and manage equipment disposal.
  • Review motor vehicle accident reports and setup estimates for Managers review.
  • Ensure proper documentation and disposal of waste metals.
  • Must have excellent computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Office Products, SAP, and TMW/TMT Maintenance software.
  • Coordinate with contractors in providing outsourced repairs for non-manned shops.
  • Receive and invoice all outsourced repairs for non-manned shops.
  • Meet and exceed both internal and external customer satisfaction.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Class “A” CDL at the time of hire or the ability to obtain one in 90 days of employment.
  • ASE Certification preferred.
  • Air conditioning Certification (MVAC 40CFR Part 82.40) preferred.
  • DOT Brake and Annual Inspector Certification (49CFR Part 396).
  • 40% travel with this role.
