The Sr. Database Administrator (DBAs) is responsible for creating and maintaining a high integrity database operating environment through strong product expertise and practices. The DBA acts as a consultant to all areas of IS with regard to product use, database design, tools and standards. The DBA possesses strong knowledge of all Coca-Cola standard database environments and is competent to work at the highest level of all phases of database management.



  • Design, implement, and maintain complex databases
    • Configure database parameters
    • Create shell scripts to manage database
    • Understand parameters of the init.ora files
    • Tune the database in accordance with OFA standards
    • Maintenance and support
    • Backup and Recovery
  • Maintain database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures and integration of systems through database design.
    • Monitor disk usage
    • Utilize tools in the environment to proactively manage the system
    • Utilize online support and other provided resources to implement best practices procedures.
  • Support Red Classics data management needs though the use of information systems technology and procedures, involving the following activities
    • Evaluate and recommend software products
    • Create programs, databases, procedures, providing training to developers
  • Responsibility for integrity and Security of production test and development database environment
    • Provide refreshes data and structure to Development DB
    • Provide backup and recovery procedures for Production DB(s)
    • Create, alter, drop and tune all DB(s) when required
    • Ensure Oracle passwords are changed in accordance to company’s policy
  • Research and Implement New Technology
    • Utilize available materials to provide accurate standards and procedures for the Oracle environment.
    • Create best practice for installing, tuning and maintenance of all databases.
    • Document by application, the structure of all databases in the Oracle environment on all platforms.
    • Monitor and form an impact analysis on growth for each database and provide information for maintaining those environments.
    • Perform impact analysis, research products, configure software, and establish standards and procedures that support company’s database environment needs.
  • Work closely with both with application development and business teams and members of operations and technical support staff in setting and achieving objectives.
    • Create best practices on creating functioning queries.
    • Work with the development teams to prevent any overhead on systems.
    • Work with system administrators to install, tune and maintain systems uptime for environments.
    • Ensure that projects are completed and to deliver the system on time and within budget, but also with good quality.



  • A minimum of 5 years related IS experience. An ability to see the big picture. Good communication skills.  Must have additional technical skills outside specialty position including the following:
  • Database design
  • Writing Stored procedures and triggers
  • DDL migration through different environments
  • Testing and implementation
  • Coordination with the development team for the product build.
  • General knowledge of Networking, Security, Computing Operations, Servers & PC capabilities. Leadership skills
  • Strong communications skills and SQL
  • Familiar with the Windows operating system 
  • Ability to multi-tasking and context-switching effectively between activities and teams
