The Red Classic Regional Safety Services Manager assists in the hands-on delivery and evaluation of consistent driver training and overall Company loss prevention programs designed to eliminate collisions and injuries and maintain legal compliance. Provides technical expertise on regulatory issues, and training/evaluating employees to improvhttps://performancemanager4.successfactors.com/sf/jobreq?jobId=10854&company=ccusP2&username=e Safety performance. Provides guidance to the facilities regarding training and prevention activities, and tracks terminal performance regarding the same. Assists in the initial and on-going selection, training and evaluation of drivers, Driver Trainers and Instructors.  Assists in the collection, review and analysis of safety information and data used in loss trending.   Assists in the development of skills and compliance-related programs to develop Drivers, Non-Drivers, and Operations Leadership in Collision Avoidance and Regulatory Compliance.  Assists the Safety Services team in all aspects of DOT compliance. This role can be in the Charlotte, NC or Nashville, TN.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in collision reviews, first report of losses and skills assessments with drivers to identify opportunities for improvement and for loss trending. 
  • Assists in data collection and analysis for loss trending, training content, Safety process improvement, training content revision, Facility meetings and leadership development content and to improve driver performance.
  • Determine and develop the most appropriate content for Facility driver meetings and leadership development based on their specific needs, assist in conducting as needed
  • Assist in the selection of Driver Trainers by ensuring they meet the qualifications, conducting structured interviews, and participating in the selection consensus. Conduct “Train-the-Trainer” course as needed.  Provide coaching as needed.
  • On an on-going basis evaluate Driver Orientation’s effectiveness through weekly reviews of Orientation surveys, initial Road tests and test summaries.  Observe a day of instruction every 6-8 weeks, more if needed.  Provide Instructor training and occasionally conduct Orientation as needed.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Operations in areas of DOT compliance, Safety processes and driver training and skills performance.  Provide training to Operations staff at the Facility level as needed.
  • Coordinates with Operations to ensure all Length of Service and PIT Training is conducted as required using correct content and reviewing the Skills Check Ride evaluation for quality.
  • Assist the Safety Services Team as needed to ensure compliance with all company, client, and Department of Transportation (DOT) policies, and procedures, as well as assist in performing the work of others as needed.
  • Promote Red Classic culture in area of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ yrs. Transportation and DOT safety/training experience
  • Must be organized, able to multi-task, and have a strong attention to detail
  • Possess strong verbal, analytical, listening and written communication skills
  • Functionally competent  computer skills related to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with TMW knowledge preferred
  • Must have a class A CDL
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Previous supervisory/management experience preferred
  • 60% travel, between Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina
  • Associate degree or higher perferred
