Things you should know about working as a Director, Category Space Analytics:

Lead the Space Analytics team across all Chain, General Market/Multi-Cultural, Channel and Independent planogram projects for Home Market and Full Service/On-Premise.  Actively engaged in all customer facing calls with retailers and seek/maintain category captaincy on key/select accounts.  Lead all level of analytics in the space planning processes via development and implementation of tools to grow profit and sales volume along with process efficiencies. Monitor all space analytics projects to insure return on investment of resources; project deadlines are achieved; and, retailer/company merchandising standards are implemented. Maximize resource investment by leveraging JDA space planning software capabilities and tools supported by CCNA.


What would success look like?

  • Lead/Face to the Customer on key/targeted accounts for space analytics capabilities/projects
  • Lead the space planning team by: coaching/teaching/training; prioritizing work to insure deadlines are met; and, insure work flow is evenly distributed for chain, independent and General Market/Multi-Cultural planogram projects across all channels of trade
  • Continue to educate/grow knowledge with the selling teams around: fact based/space to sales analytics to leverage the space planning resources; grow retailer/CCC sales and profits; and, integrate profitability lens including GMROII in retailer projects
  • Manage resources to maximize ROI such as man power, tools, T&E budget, etc.
  • Motivate collaboration with: Customer Management team and leaders; Market Unit teams/leadership; the Category Advisory team; Strategy Analytics team; and RGM when appropriate for a holistic analytics support system for retailer partners
  • Insure Managers maintain the product image library to be current and accurate for Coca-Cola brands/packages and competitive products
  • Insure Manager is maintaining merchandising standards / template library are current and reflected in all space planners/analysts work
  • Insure that Managers can be the point person for all space analytics questions; new projects; POG libraries; and, communication to the merchandising team, sales team and senior leadership



  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in space planning/analytics, POG build, retailer set processes, data cleansing and script writing
  • Experience leading a team of +15 people
  • Experience with retailer facing set planning/merchandising
  • Experience with various data sources to include syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen); retailer scan; company shipment (Margin Minder); and, advanced analytics skills utilizing multiple / large data sets
  • Presentation experience to different levels of audience from entry/new to the business all the way up to senior leadership/officers
  • Managing numerous set planning projects and processes at one time
  • 4-year degree preferred
